- Developed and deployed a specialized commerce system for The Reid Park Zoo to facilitate Internet sales of event tickets and memberships, accept donations and process animal adoptions. Incorporated jQuery/AJAX for improved user experience and leveraged the Authorize.net Customer Information Manager to aid expedited checkout. RESULT: The Zoo realized $32K in on-line sales and donations within six months.
- Programming lead in efforts to move the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s (NRECA) magazine “Electric Co-op Today” from print to digital. Utilized WordPress, over 30 custom and/or modified plugins, the OpenX Ad Server, and both large-screen and mobile device themes to mimic the functionality and portability of the Association’s magazine. RESULT: NRECA was able to focus more effort toward providing content, eliminate the environmental impact associated with print and distribution and target a much larger audience.
- Conceptualized and implemented an extensible event registration system for Synod of the Southwest, providing customizable forms, flexible payment options and bilingual support. An administrative back-end adds flexibility allowing organization administrators control of events and includes the DHTML eXtensions’ Grid product for simplified data modeling. RESULT: Non-profit realized savings in administrative effort in addition to reduced reliance on technical support.
- Developed web service to distribute vehicle data for Leader Public Auction to public-facing website and live-streaming auction service. The solution gathers data stored on Microsoft SQL servers within the company’s internal network, stores it on distributed MySQL servers, and redistributes it using Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP). RESULT: Fault tolerant system reduced demand on internal servers, eliminated duplicate data aggregation efforts and shortened the time-to-market on web site launch.
- Installed and customized 48 web sites built upon the CS-Cart Shopping Cart Software product. Developed specialized “addons” and additional payment processor modules; providing resultant code to CS-Cart for inclusion in futue releases. RESULT: 20 active sites garnered $1.4M in combined 2009 sales.
- Programmed Multiple Listing Service (MLS) data aggregation script to download listings and associated images for NetProperties, a Tucson Real Estate Broker. Utilized database back-end to catalog listing data, image pre-processing to generate thumbnail photographs and a Content Delivery Network (CDN) enabled solution for image storage. RESULT: On-site listings search provides usability experience superior to competitor web sites and CDN image delivery drastically decreased page-load times.
- Integrated gift-card purchase, refill and balance-check API into Arizona Auto Spa web site. Encompassed Authorize.net payment processing in conjunction with World Gift Card services to enable on-line sales and gift card refills. RESULT: Enhanced start-up’s offerings, reaching a sales demographic otherwise untapped prior to introduction.
- Created single sign-on (SSO) solution for Tri-Tronics to unify the CS-Cart, WordPress and PHPBB authentication and session management systems. Added plugin to WordPress installation that enabled page-level access control based on shopping cart membership and included a widget to show shopping cart status within WordPress pages. RESULT: Simplified user management and dealer/distributor access control and provides seamless experience between technologies for end-users.
- Developed SOAP-based address information web service capable of geocoding, standard mapping functions, ZIP Code and nationwide school district data retrieval. RESULT: Eliminated redundant programming and data storage within the web sites leveraging the service functionality.
